DoDEA Students Continue High Performance on the 2011 NAEP 8th Grade Science Assessment Department of Defense Education Activity (DoDEA) eighth grade students continued their strong performance on the National Assessment of Educational Progress (NAEP) 2011 Science Assessment.
The NAEP was administered to DoDEA eighth grade students from January 24 - March 4, 2011. DoDEA's domestic and overseas school systems participated in NAEP as a single jurisdiction.
Former Zama American HS Teacher Returns as New Principal No hall pass required for Bruce Derr as he returns to Zama American High School with a new title: Principal. Derr previously served as a Health and Physical Education teacher at ZAHS from 1974-1983. He also coached football, wrestling, cross country and girls volleyball while teaching at ZAHS.

This celebration, which runs May 7-11, recognizes the nation's teachers and is sponsored by the National Parent Teacher Association (PTA).

DoDEA Student Selected as National Merit Scholarship Winner Cathleen E. Nalezyty, a student from the Department of Defense Education Activity's (DoDEA) Osan American High School, in Osan, South Korea was recently selected as a National Merit $2,500 Scholarship winner by the National Merit Scholarship Corporation (NMSC).
